Am I still a Nurse? You bet I am!

Recently, people have been asking me how I found the courage to change careers. I find this funny because I am a nurse, no matter what my role (founder of Sable's Foods or consultant to non-profit organizations), I always think of myself as a nurse. I understand most folks think of nurses in the traditional role of bedside nursing. There is so much more to nursing than just bedside care.  Nurses are found across many industries such as pharmaceutical companies, providing primary care in rural areas or corporate headquarters, on the battle field caring for soldiers, executives in non-profit organizations, authors, teachers and business owners.  I am so proud to be a nurse.  It has given me the experience and confidence to step out on my own, to take a risk and to start my own company.
